This may be a diamond in the rough, then again it may be a show everyone knows and loves. To be honest I stumbled on this because a friend of mine and I were talking about Corporate named venues and we started throwing around old school names like "Civic center" "spectrum" ect. It really doesn't get more old school that "War memorial" and I happened upon this one. If you haven't listened to it I suggest you give it a shot, if you have, maybe do a quick re-listen tonight. Great setlist and top notch playing.

This is the show I melted down at and had my one and only *bad trip.* Lucky for me it was mostly over by the middle of Looks Like Rain and I was actually present in the hall for the awesome second set.

I don't know how you feel about matrices, but this is one of a very few cases where I think it totally improves on the wimpy soundboard - not that Charlie didn't do the best he could, but I think the original tape was pretty bad/

I actually downloaded the audience recording. I'm a big aud guy.

The remastered aud is better than the SB, good choice!

Speaking of Morning Dew on the other thread, there's a gorgeous version on this. I found this show partly cuz I like to get stuff that falls into the "I Was There" category -- however, while I don't know about other folks, I'm not sure I'm the best at analyzing quality and making comparisons in those cases. To my biased ears, though, it's an excellent '81. I'm always happy to have a Jack a Roe, and there's a sweet, driving version here (if you can ignore Brent's tinky-wink sounds. Sorry, Brent lovers ... I came to like him in time, too :-) )

They actually just recently tore down the old Aud... Sad. Great show though.

Totally love this show also. The first tape I ever had of a show that I attended.
Other NY state war memorials I saw shows at where Syracuse and Rochester.
